Rev. Bro. Thomas Karondukadavil CST has been serving as the Director of MAGJ Hospital, Mookkannoor, for over 11 years, leading one of the most trusted rural healthcare hospitals in Ernakulam district, Kerala. Located in Mookkannoor, Angamaly, MAGJ Hospital is dedicated to delivering quality and affordable medical treatment to rural communities, ensuring accessible healthcare for all.
He holds an advanced qualifications in Religious Spirituality from Rome and brings decades of experience in hospital administration, healthcare management, financial stewardship, and institutional leadership. He began his career as Assistant Procurator of the Archdiocese of Ernakulam, Angamaly, serving for six years and gaining extensive experience in ecclesiastical and administrative governance. During this period, he had the distinguished opportunity to accompany His Holiness Pope Saint John Paul II during the Pope’s historic visit to Kerala.
Within the CST Congregation, Rev. Bro. Thomas served as Finance Officer for ten years, where he strengthened financial systems, governance frameworks, and long-term sustainability of institutions. His leadership led to his appointment as Director of MAGJ Hospital in 2014. Under his stewardship, the hospital achieved several major milestones, including the successful relocation to a new, modern hospital building in 2018, significantly enhancing healthcare infrastructure and patient services in the region. He played a pivotal role in structuring the institution with a strong focus on quality of services, leading to the hospital obtaining NABH accreditation in 2022. He also spearheaded efforts to strengthen the hospital with super-specialty services and advanced medical technologies, ensuring comprehensive, high-quality healthcare for the community.
In addition to his leadership in healthcare administration, Rev. Bro. Thomas has made significant contributions to religious formation and mentoring. He has served as a Formator for CST brothers and as the Rector of the LF Aspirants House, Mookkannoor, where he was actively involved in guiding young candidates in spiritual formation and leadership development.
In addition to his responsibilities as Director of MAGJ Hospital, he currently serves as the Assistant General of the CST Congregation, contributing significantly to congregational leadership, institutional governance, and mission-driven service. With a rare combination of spiritual leadership, healthcare administration expertise, and financial acumen, Rev. Bro.
